This part of the experiment involved cutting back to the bare basics. Music as it used to be played and recorded in the “old days”. The band, featuring Johnnie Squizzercrow (alias Guy Percival) on Bass and backing vocals, Zzerc-of-Org (alias Lynn Monk) on Drums, Dave Craggs on Guitar and Debz Lewis on Lead vocal recorded a whole album’s worth of material in one take in 45 minutes at Bakehouse Studio. The guide vocal was not replaced, and very few edits were needed to the tracks before mixing down. No overdubs, no sound effects (apart from the usual reverb and echo). Mastered to retain the natural dynamics. So those of you under 30 may need to use that now very under-used device … your volume control … to TURN IT UP LOUD! Enjoy!
